Envision Center collaborates with professor to bring Mars to Purdue
Imagine wandering through the hallways of a base populated by pioneering Martian colonists, a living space that includes everything from farms to chemical labs. This might sound like science fiction, but soon visitors may be able to reach Mars from Purdue.

Virtual reality video game opens up drug discovery to non-scientists 
Gaurav Chopra, assistant professor of chemistry, partnered with ITaP’s Envision Center to develop a virtual reality video game that allows a user to potentially discover new treatments for diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer’s by targeting proteins known to play a role in diseases. 

Didn’t notice Purdue’s main data center moving? That was the plan
ITaP has completed the migration of Purdue’s main data center from Freehafer Hall. The move, involving thousands of machines, and one of the largest IT projects at Purdue ever, took more than a year. But most of the campus barely noticed.

Purdue's community cluster supercomputers propel Hyperloop team's success
A team of Purdue students was one of the top finishers in the recent SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition, which aimed to bring to life SpaceX founder Elon Musk's vision of high-speed travel through a vacuum tube using pods running on magnetic levitation. The Purdue team used the community cluster supercomputers operated by ITaP to design their pod.

Supercomputing partnership yields life-changing science, bond between Colombian university and Purdue
Five years ago, the Colombian university EAFIT bought a retired Purdue University supercomputer and began a partnership with Purdue's research computing staff. Today, EAFIT has one of the most powerful supercomputers in Latin America and a growing scientific computing center to support researchers in fields ranging from seismology to bioengineering.
